Sooo, it’s been a long while since I last updated. But, I was working on a game this past month for the SuNoFes jam, and managed to release a demo!
The title is Les Contes Magiques: Marie Lévesque! Here’s a summary I posted on LSF:
You play as Marie Lévesque, a 2nd-year student at the prestigious Institut de Sorcellerie.
Since the beginning of civilization, this institute was built as one of many other guardian towers, meant to both train and employ defenders.
At first, Marie found her experience there to be rather easy-going. However, something ominous appears over the horizon. A female student goes missing, and then is found dead… and subsequently, others fall to the same horrifying fate. What exactly is going on here?
Please do try it out if you’re interested! I’d love to hear your thoughts on it. :>
Apologies for the really… really long delay in updates, but I was in the process of editing the demo draft, and…
It’s uh… I’m not happy with it! So, I’m starting with another draft, and it’s going along much better.
The thing is, while I don’t know if I’ll stay with this draft or if I’ll scrap it and start a new one, I’d rather not update the site constantly with “Well, I wrote, I guess!”
‘Cause of that, I’ll keep my head low in the mean time, and start poking out once I start on other important assets. After being happy with my script, of course.
So… yeah! I’m really sorry for the constant push-backs for the demo, but I’m still working on them. :>
Have a nice week, guys! And to those of you with finals, good luck!
Hello, everyone! Happy almost-end-of-January!
I’m pretty much done with editing the first draft for the demo portion of The Witching Hour. All I really have left is to make mock-ups for the graphics, decide where to use what BGMs where, and to do a few more edits of the beginning of the script before asking a few of my friends to review it.
So… the demo isn’t exactly being released tomorrow as I hoped for, but within the beginning of February. It’ll be a pretty rough demo, so think of it more as a beta of sorts.
As always, I don’t have much to say, but at least there’s an update, right? :P
Also, follow me on twitter for really brief updates on the VN!
See you guys next time!
Happy New Year, everyone!
Well, I set a goal for releasing a rough demo mid-December, but I wasn’t able to reach it. I’m disappointed, and I’m sorry if I disappointed anyone else, but I’m pushing myself to get things done before the end of January, especially since I’m close to reaching my writing goal.
Other than that, I suppose I’ll reflect over the past year a bit.
I’ve only really released one VN in 2013, which is already pretty short. Then, nothing really in 2014, excluding projects where I worked alongside awesome people.
Honestly, I had a lot of trouble with The Witching Hour throughout the year. I’m sure you could tell, but I’ve worked much harder on honing my art skills compared to my writing skills. I still got frustrated at not writing pure gold on the first draft, even though I knew that it isn’t possible. But, I’ve constantly pushed myself to write even when I was at the point of gettin’ real stressed out, so it’s getting a lot easier now, compared to before. It’s difficult to improve on something without doing it many times, even when you know what’s wrong, you know!
It’s been a dull year, but I’m hoping that I’ll make this year a lot more enjoyable.
Anyhow, have a good weekend!
I promised an update last week, but things happened and I forgot. So, here’s an update this week!
I don’t have much to say other than I’m slowly getting towards my writing goal for the planned demo. I have about 3 scenes left to write, which would equate to about 10k words in the first draft. It’ll get whittled down a bit before demo release, so, don’t get your (my) hopes up for a 10k demo, hah. :P
(Also, I changed the title again by removing the “The” in the front… hehhh.)
Anyhow, this was just an update to let you all know I’m alive. So, uh, have a nice Thanksgiving next week!
